Parent & Child Aquatics session 1- 2026 - Summer 2026

Ages: 6 months -3 years (with Parent in water)

This class introduces infants and toddlers to the water through fun, guided activities that build comfort and safety.

Children will learn to:

  • Feel comfortable in the water.
  • Enter and exit the water safely.
  • Explore breath control and submersion
  • Explore floating on the front and back.
  • Change body position in the water.
  • Play safely in the water.
  • Experience wearing a life jacket.

Parents, you also learn:

  • How to properly supervise children and maintain safe behavior in, on and around the water.
  • How to hold and support your child in the water.
  • How to select and fit a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket
  • Valuable water safety information to make your family safer in, on and around the water.

Presentational Preschool Aquatics (Pre-K) -session 1 2026 visual

Preschool Aquatics (Pre-K) -session 1 2026 - Summer 2026

Preschool - Age: 3-5 years

In Preschool Aquatics students will build foundation in water skills that prepare children for independent swimming and water safety.

Skills taught include:

  • Feel comfortable in the water.
  • Enter and exit the water independently 
  • Submerging mouth and blowing bubbles
  • Front glide with support
  • Back float with support
  • Recovering to a vertical position with support
  • Safe water play
  • Experience wearing a life jacket.

Where to go after here - Preschool Aquatics - Advanced:

  • Learn to float with assistance and recover to a vertical position.
  • Combine arm and leg action on the front and back.
  • Learn more self-help and basic rescue skills.

Presentational Level 1 - Basic Beginner - session 1, 2026 visual

Level 1 - Basic Beginner - session 1, 2026 - Summer 2026

Ages: 5 years & up

Level 1: Basic Beginner: Designed for beginners to build comfort and basic water competency skills

Skills included:

  • Independent water entry
  • Traveling at least 5 yards and bobbing
  • Submerging and opening eyes underwater.
  • Front glide and assisted back float 
  • Rolling from front to back
  • Combined arm and leg action on front and back with assistance.
  • Alternating and simultaneous arm and leg actions on front and back with assistance

Next Level:  Level 2 - Intermediate Skills

  • More advance skills taught as we begin rotary breathing
  • Swimming more independently on our front and back
  • Introduction of swim strokes

Presentational Level 2 - Intermediate Skills - session 1, 2026 visual

Level 2 - Intermediate Skills - session 1, 2026 - Summer 2026

Ages: 6 years & up (must be comfortable submerging)

Level 2: Intermediate Skills - Students build on prior skills while increasing independence and endurance

Your child will be learning in a fun, engaging, and challenging activities that motivate students to want to perform and learn to swim. 

Milestones include:

  • Entering chest-deep water
  • Full submersion and breath holding.
  • Floating or treading for 15 seconds
  • Rolling between front and back positions
  • Pushing off and swimming using combined arm and leg action on front for 5 body lengths, rolling to back float, floating for 5 seconds, rolling to the front and then continue swimming for 5 body lengths.

Presentational Level 3 - Advanced -Intro to deep water session 1, 2026 visual

Level 3 - Advanced -Intro to deep water session 1, 2026 - Summer 2026

Ages: 7 years & up Students must be ready for deep water 9+feet 

Level 3: Advanced: Students will build on previously learned skills. Your child will learn the front crawl and elementary backstroke at rudimentary levels.

Skills include:

  • Front crawl and elementary backstroke
  • Flutter, scissors, breaststroke and dolphin kicks.
  • Treading water and floating for 1 minute
  • swimming 25 yards continuously
  • Headfirst entries in deep water

Exist Skills will include the following before advancement:

Jumping into deep water from the side, recovering to the surface, maintain position by treading or floating for 1 minutes, rotating a 360, then swimming the front crawl and/or elementary backstroke for 25 yards and then exit the water.

  • Pushing off in a streamlined position, swimming the front crawl for 15 yards, changing position and direction, swimming the elementary backstroke for 15 yards and then exiting the water.

Next Level:  Level 4 -Stroke Improvement

  • Increase endurance in swim strokes
  • Learning open turns
  • Introduction of standing dives

  • Front crawl -25yards

Adult & Older Teens - LTS Session 1 2026 - Summer 2026

Ages: Adults & Teens 13 years & up

This class helps teens and adults gain confidence, safety skills, and foundational strokes.

Skills taught include:

  • Chest-deep and deep-water entry
  • Breath control and submersion
  • Front and back glides
  • Survival floating (30-seconds)

Adult & Teen Basic Program Goals:

  • Overcome fear of the water
  • Build safe, functional swim sills
  • Introduction to new swim skills to get you moving in the water
  • Achieving the American Red Cross -Water Competency Sequence

 Jump into deep water, surface, tread or float for 1 minute, turn a 360°, swim 25 yards, and exit safely
